INSTALLATION AGREEMENT CONDITIONS

These Installation Arrangement Conditions apply to all flooring installations arranged by Priory Carpets & Flooring.

By accepting a quotation and/or placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the conditions set out below.

1. Role of Priory Carpets & Flooring
Priory Carpets & Flooring acts as an agent only in arranging the installation of flooring products supplied by us.
We do not carry out installation works ourselves. All installation works are undertaken by independent, self-employed flooring fitters.
We will take all reasonable care to appoint a fitter we believe is suitable for the installation of the product you have purchased and will liaise with you and the fitter to agree a suitable installation date.

2. Installation contract
When installation is arranged, you authorise Priory Carpets & Flooring to enter into a verbal contract with the independent fitter on your behalf for the installation works and any additional works that may be required.
The installation contract is a separate agreement between you and the fitter.
The fitter is solely responsible for:
•    The standard and quality of their workmanship
•    Compliance with relevant installation standards
•    Any additional works agreed directly with you

3. Labour costs & payment
Labour costs are not payable to Priory Carpets & Flooring unless expressly stated otherwise.
Payment for installation must be made directly to the fitter upon completion of the works, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed with the fitter in advance.
Labour costs shown on quotations are estimates based on the information available at the time and may vary if additional works are required.

4. Basis of labour quotations
Labour quotations are based on the following assumptions unless stated otherwise in writing:
•    Areas are clear of furniture and personal belongings
•    Existing flooring has been removed prior to the fitter’s arrival
•    Reasonable access to the property is available
•    Power, lighting, and suitable working conditions are provided
If these conditions are not met, the fitter may charge additional costs directly to you or reschedule the works.

5. Exclusions from labour costs
Unless specifically included in the quotation, labour costs do not include:
•    Easing, trimming, or altering doors
•    Joinery, carpentry, plumbing, or electrical works
•    Removal or refitting of toilets, appliances, or fixtures
•    Repair of pre-existing subfloor defects
•    Work required due to unforeseen site conditions
Any such works, if required, can usually be carried out by the fitter at an additional cost, payable directly to them.

6. Subfloor & site conditions
The fitter is entitled to refuse to install flooring if the subfloor or site conditions are unsuitable and may recommend additional preparation works.
Additional preparation works may result in:
•    Additional costs payable directly to the fitter
•    Delays to the installation programme
Priory Carpets & Flooring accepts no responsibility for delays or costs arising from unforeseen subfloor conditions, moisture issues, structural movement, or site-related problems.

7. Installation dates & delays
Installation dates are provisional and may be subject to change due to:
•    Product delivery delays
•    Illness or availability of fitters
•    Site conditions
•    Circumstances beyond our control
While we will always aim to minimise disruption, Priory Carpets & Flooring cannot be held liable for delays outside of our reasonable control.

8. Damage & liability
The fitter is responsible for reasonable care during installation.
Priory Carpets & Flooring and the fitter are not responsible for:
•    Damage to pre-existing fixtures, fittings, or decorations
•    Issues arising from hidden pipes, cables, or structural defects
•    Normal installation-related disturbance or dust
Customers are advised to remove or protect valuables prior to installation.

9. Complaints & issues
Any concerns regarding installation workmanship should be raised directly with the fitter in the first instance.
We are happy to assist where possible by liaising with the fitter, but Priory Carpets & Flooring is not responsible for resolving workmanship disputes.

10. Acceptance of conditions
By proceeding with an order and installation, you confirm acceptance of these Installation Arrangement Conditions.
